POSTCARDS FROM MOROCCO
WITH THIS PROJECT, I TRY TO FIND ACCESSES TO NEW POSTCARD CONCEPTS. AMONGST LETTERS, TRAVEL NOTES AND OTHER MEDIA, THE POSTCARD IS THE SMALLEST AND SIMPLEST UNITY OF MEDIA TRANSFERING CULTURAL EXPERIENCE. POSTCARDS (AND NOT NECESSARILY THE WRITTEN SIDE) ARE USUALLY EUPHEMISTIC, THEY EXPRESS EXCHANGEABLE, ARBITRARY AND GENERAL CONTENTS, MERELY SUPERFICIAL EXPERIENCES AND CLICHÉS.
THIS PROJECT AIMS TO WORK OUT NEW CONCEPTS OF POSTCARDS: THE MESSAGES ON THE POSTCARD SHALL INCLUDE CULTURAL ISSUES, A MORE INTIMATE AND PROFOUND CONTACT WITH CULTURE, THEY SHOULD BE WITNESSES OF A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF CULTURE, BUT THEY ALSO IMPLICATE MISUNDERSTANDINGS AND CONFLICTS AND THEREFOR ARE GRAPHIC AND LYRIC EXAMINATIONS THAT EXCEED THE CONCEPT OF CONVENTIONAL POSTCARDS AND TRANSFER CULTURAL EXPERIENCES AND CLASHES THROUGH SUBJECTIVE POSITIONS.
